From the beginning of the world
in the rugged model of the life of rocks
the Fairy of the Rock has dwelt.
Her all-gold hair billows in the wind
and her sea-green eyes, calmed, look
on those unknown worlds of life
which death and fear have not met with,
Unseen the Fairy stands,
her flight is near.
She is sorrowful to leave the Rock
in the error of non-existence.’
